Little miss cut yet another tooth this morning. That makes it 7! At feeding times, we now just throw hunks of meat at her.

Our daughter had an explosion of fun new developments yesterday. She crawled! She’s been scooting around in a military crawl for close to two months now; but up on all fours, she had only mastered the leap-frog. After about four successful crawls, she started to fumble and quickly became frustrated. Naps were not in the agenda as she was all too excited about her new skill.
Needing to pack for our upcoming trip this week, I put Indy into her crib to keep her securely stationed. That is, until I turned around and saw she had hoisted herself up to standing and was leaning over the banister. As my heart jumped, my stomach fell, and I acted with the speed and accuracy of a puma. In one fell swoop, I picked her up, dialed a friend and within the hour her bed was lowered to the lowest position. Putting her back in to check out digs, she promptly pulled herself back up again.
We are in for so much trouble. Our upcoming vacation is going to be fun.

Mastering eating, or slight of hand.
(Mike said it was almost cruel to give her avocado. Personally, I think she enjoys challenges.)
Indy’s right front eye-tooth broke through today, now she’s got a set! It’s a challenge to get a toothy smile, but she’s happy as a clam. This make 5 teeth now.
I only recognized that it broke through by her playing with it with her tongue. This might explain the food strike this last week, she was not wanting much in the way of milk or solids for about 4 days, but not fussy at all. Her jack-o-lantern smile warms my heart.

This last weekend Indy’s front tooth breached the surface and two days later, her incisor cut through. She took it like a champ and had no signs of fussiness. She now has two new “toys” to play with, inside her mouth, which she enjoys very much.
It’s a challenge to get her toothy grin for the camera, so all we get is this smiley one. Hat wear courtesy of Grandma Sheila.

Indy commandeered another baby’s jumper at a play date with 2 other ladies on Monday. Hilarity ensued.
Haley is two weeks older and Frankie is two months younger. Both enjoy a good game of telephone.

Our adventurous roller loves the soft rubber play mat; head bonking is now minimized, fun texture-feeling is maximized!
Side bonus: it’s easier on moms tired body, too.
