Zoo Lights
We went to the LA Zoo after dark to see it all out up with lights. Despite the throngs of people and endless lines, we had a lovely time. The animals seemed a bit upset by the noise and disturbance, and that bothered me. Zoos in general feel ugly and sad. The lights did help in cheering it up a bit.
Indy went through a disco ball forest and tried her hardest to catch the little floating lights. She was successful a few times.
Spanish
While reading a book to Indy (on the pot), she asked if I could translate it to Spanish. I looked at the page silently trying to decipher a few words. After a few moments of quiet she said, “I don’t hear any Spanish…”, while she looked out the side of her eyes at me and back at the book a couple of times.
Raccoon
We recently adopted a caterpillar that will become a monarch butterfly. The day after we got him home, he hung upside down for 24 hours and then went into his pupa state in a cocoon.
Thanksgiving for Deers
Grandma and Grandpa Bigby make sure the deer get enough to eat in the California drought.
